This is such a beautiful place in the Autumn. I've been here to pick huckleberries and take photos but I have never painted here. It was such a beautiful morning. I painted a little then would take a break and sit, eat huckleberries, listen to the creek and soak up the sun. The painting still has a lot of work yet but it's not really about the finished product but the experience of being in such a beautiful place and being completely present. I'm hoping to hold on to that peace for a while.
SOLD This is the second pull or "ghost" of "Knee Deep in Autumn". I wouldn't of been able to get such a complete ghost with out the use of the steam roller. I did have to go in and fill in a few places but not much. This print will be up for auction at A6 in Bend Oregon on the 1st of October.
One of the blogs I follow is my sister-n-law's. She is an amazing writer and values the written word before all else. I am in awe of her talent. I love this post as I think it says so much about the sad state of art in our schools. I have such a fear that my nephews natural creativity will be replaced by societies rigid conformity. Luckily, I don't think his Mother will let that happen.
This is the finished Print. Monotype on board. The steam roller does all the hard work. What would normally have taken me over an hour, it did in about 20 seconds. I want one!!!! Lillian Pitt getting her print ready with help.
A6 is having the Steam Roller Print workshop again this year. I will be there Saturday morning working on some prints. It's open to everyone to watch or to do a print. Come check in out Saturday or Sunday. 389 SW Scalehouse Ct. Suite 120, Bend, OR
